Q:

My trash and/or recycling wasn't picked up this week.  Why?

A:

Garbage is collected every Thursday unless that day is a holiday in which case it would be collected on the next business day.  Recycling is picked up every other week according to the schedule sent out annually at the end of the year.  The calendar can also be viewed here.

FDL also requires a minimum of 3 feet between garbage/recycling containers.  This area is necessary to allow the automatic equipment to lift the containers safely.  GFL also will not pick up containers that are overflowing.  If you have a situation where you have an excessive amount of trash or recycling please contact GFL at 920-387-0987.

Q:

I have an old refrigerator, microwave, computer, etc, to recycle.  What can I do with it?

A:

Many of these items can be recycled locally for free.  Please see the flyer available in the Community Center lobby or visit http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/Ecycle/ to search for a list of local businesses that recycle electronics.

Q:

How can I dispose of an old mattress or other larger furniture?

A:

The Village has an annual Bulky Waste pickup day.  It is normally scheduled for the Monday following the Village-Wide Rummage Sale which is the first Saturday in August.  Restricted items include large appliances, anything containing freon, tires, used oil, batteries and electronics items.  Construction material will also not be picked up.  Please contact the Village Office with questions on other types of materials.

**Bulky items may NOT be brought to the Village Garage.**

GFL does not pick up bulky items at any other time of year.  Guelig's, located at 318 Fond du Lac Avenue in Eden, is an option for disposing of larger items.  They charge a minimum fee for disposal.  Call 920-948-1304 for more details.

Q:

What do I do with my leaves in the fall?

A:

Public Works generally collects leaves weekly on Tuesdays starting in October, continuing through mid-November.  Due to the large amount of leaves that employees need to pick up the collection day can vary from week to week.  However, if you place leaves on your curb right after collection is completed near your house, please do not expect employees to come back for a special collection.

Q:

I have a question about my home's assessed value.  Who can I call for more information?

A:

The Village's assessor is Associated Appraisal Consultants, Inc.  Our appraiser is Nick Laird and he can be reached at 1-800-721-4157.

Where do I vote?  What do I need to bring?

A:

The polling place is located in the Community Center at 130 N. Main Street.  Polls on election day are open from 7:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m. Starting in 2016 photo ID WILL be required at every election.  You will be required to show an acceptable form of photo ID every time you vote.  Please click here for acceptable forms of photo ID.
